The 13th Annual High School “Spirit of Leadership” Conference

This transformational event is part of the Young Women’s Leadership year-round program, a day of celebration and training for the 2010 high school “Spirit of Leadership” award recipients. San Diego’s rising stars have been nominated by the community and selected to join us for a day of discovery, inspiration and supportive community. A day that has changed the lives of thousands of young women for thirteen years!
Rachel Simmons to Keynote 2010 Conference!
Each year we invite acclaimed teen experts to be part of this special day – this year we are incredibly proud to announce that Rachel Simmons will be the 2010 keynote guest:
Rachel Simmons is the author of New York Times bestsellers Odd Girl out: the Hidden Culture of Aggression in Girls, and The Curse of the Good Girl: Raising Authentic Girls with Courage and Confidence, and founder of the Girls Leadership Institute. She is touted as one of the most inspirational speakers to today’s youth and will talk about integrity, self-awareness, personal authority and strategies to address bullying empowering girls to be leaders in their own lives. Rachel Simmons has appeared on Oprah, Today, and other national TV shows as an expert on “girl culture” and how to empower teens.
Important Conference Details:
- 2010 “Spirit of Leadership” Award recipients announced March 6, 2010 by e-mail and postal service. Detailed conference information and registration instructions will be included in the packet.
- To receive the “Spirit of Leadership” Award recipients must attend the entire conference day (8:00am-4:30pm) on March 27, 2010
- Registration and parent permission forms must be received prior to the event, by registration deadline March 16, 2010.
- The conference registration fee is $25.00.
- Scholarships are available to award recipients – our goal is to turn no girl away due to finances.
