The “Spirit of Leadership” Award
Each year hundreds of extraordinary San Diego County high school young women are selected, by the community to receive the “Spirit of Leadership” Award. Recipients are invited to attend one of two annual conferences where they are honored and receive training for the day.
Each year “Young Women’s Leadership” seeks nominees that show leadership potential in one or more of the following areas:
- Community Leader – demonstrates positive leadership within her peer group, community, church or synagogue, etc.
- Student Leader – demonstrates leadership and “makes a difference” within her school’s academic community.
- Creative Leader – demonstrates being an innovative force in any area of the arts.
- Athletic Leader – someone whose energy and enthusiasm demonstrates heart, courage, persistence.
- Personal Integrity & Family – someone who communicates her leadership through her personal integrity and commitment to family or personal values.
- The Undiscovered Leader – as you consider the young women you know, remember we are reaching out to those who might not recognize this potential that lies within; we would like to help them recognize and step into becoming leaders in their own lives!
Our selection team chooses those eligible to receive the 2010 “Spirit of Leadership” award. In order to receive the award, participants are required to attend their age-appropriate “Spirit of Leadership” Conference, March 27, 2010 for high school participants and July 17, 2010 for middle school participants. Each award recipient will be honored for being recognized by her community and will receive a day of transformational training that has empowered, inspired and changed the lives of thousands of young women over the past thirteen years.
