Mentoring

Young Women\'s MentoringMentors fill the need for adult role models in a young woman’s life. Mentors share their experiences of life and career, teach effective leadership strategies, and encourage young women to take initiative in their lives and communities.

The Mentor Luncheon consists of 6-7 student participants and 1-2 San Diego women professionals from a variety of industries per table. Their careers include law enforcement, fire protection, radio personality, news anchors, attorneys, doctors, photographers, CEOs, authors, professors, teachers, presidents, professional speakers, engineers, counselors, martial arts instructors, and many more.

Mentors’ comments:

“The mentor lunch gave me an opportunity to see how important we all are, that we each have a purpose.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed being a mentor at the leadership conference. The young women were a delight to get to know.”
Yolanda Wahlter-Meade

The conference and luncheon were amazing. The young women involved learned a great deal. Many of the girls commented throughout the day about how much fun they had.

I got to interface with some phenomenal young ladies. They enriched me as I hope I did them. Thank you for the opportunity to participate as a volunteer and a mentor. Many people left there being enriched and blessed.

“I control my own life and future. It does not matter what others think of me. I will find my passion and then live my dream. I want to get even more involved with this program.”
