A Conversation with Randi Driscoll
The YWL 2008 Leadership Forum series feature women artists who are singer-songwriters, some with their own record labels, and each with a unique story of how they have succeeded in staying true to their own hearts as women in the entertainment business. Together we will share stories of triumph and listen to lessons learned from women who are living their dream, sharing their message, daring to be the person they know they are in their hearts, each while singing their powerful songs.
Randi Driscoll will join YWL to share her music and her perspective. An accomplished singer-songwriter who has dedicated herself to her artistry and to the issues surrounding human dignity, Randi has opened for well-known artists with the same commitment to human issues including Jason Mraz, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Hornsby, Pat Benetar and Jackson Brown. Her greatest personal accomplishment has been “What Matters,” a song she wrote in response to the death of Matthew Shepard, a young man killed in a brutal hate crime. Randi’s music has been featured in documentaries, commercials, and the WB hit series, “Dawson’s Creek.” She has successfully sold 20,000 copies of her cds without the help of a major record label.
