Spirit Of Leadership“Young Women’s Leadership” supports young women through a highly acclaimed year-long program.

The “Spirit of Leadership” Award

Each year hundreds of extraordinary middle school and high school young women are selected from throughout the county to receive the “Spirit of Leadership” award. Award recipients are invited to attend a very special day long training and development conference.

The “Spirit of Leadership” Conferences

“Spirit of Leadership” award recipients are invited to attend our annual conference where they are honored for the day. The conference includes two keynotes and 15 break-out sessions designed to enrich and support young women in their efforts to become active leaders today. One of the highlights of the day is the mentor experience connecting attendees with prominent women leaders. that volunteer their time and attention with the girls to encourage sharing and growth. The day is remarkable, and it changes the lives of many attendees (including the adults involved!).

  • High School Conference: March 21, 2009
  • Middle School Conference: July 18, 2009

Leadership Workshops are powerful sessions that are innovative and experiential. The series includes important leadership and self-development topics relevant to the teen population facilitated by experts who are engaging youth speakers and trainers. Workshops are open to Middle and High School girls, youth leaders, educators and women and mothers interested in learning more about our program.

“Passport To Success” Certificate Program

For the first time Young Women’s Leadership participants have the opportunity to earn a 2009 certificate of completion. This certificate is awarded to young women who attend three (3) out of our four (4) 2009 Leadership Workshops along with attending the “Spirit of Leadership Conference” (a total of four leadership events over the course of the year). This acknowledges completion of our program and will be a strong addition to any high school portfolio or college application.
