FAQ
Who was Jenna Druck?
Jenna Druck represents the spirit of leadership, boundless energy and enthusiasm a young woman holds when given direction and loving support. She lived her life to its fullest and brought a special quality of love and compassion to everyone she met. While studying abroad, Jenna was killed in a bus accident.
What is The Jenna Druck Foundation?
The Jenna Druck Foundation was created in 1996, to honor the life of a remarkable young woman whose accomplishments and irrepressible spirit touched many thousands of lives. Today, the Foundation’s two groundbreaking programs, Families Helping Families and Young Women’s Leadership, provide services to thousands of people each year. We turn Grief into Hope, and Strength into Leadership.
What is the Young Women’s Leadership Conference?
Over 1400 extraordinary high school young women are nominated each year to attend our annual conference. The Conference is an exciting daylong series of seminars, discussions and keynotes designed to enrich and support young women in their efforts to become active leaders today. High school age attendees discover how to handle finances, apply for college, build body image confidence, develop healthy personal and professional relationships, and more. The Mentor Luncheon is a very special part of the conference day; with prominent adult women leaders volunteering to spend time in small groups with the girls to encourage sharing and growth. The day is remarkable, and it changes the lives of many attendees (and the adults involved!).
Who are the Mentors for the day?
Leaders/Mentors fill the need for adult role models in a young woman’s life. Mentors share their experiences of life and career, teach effective leadership strategies, and encourage young women leaders to take initiative in their lives and communities. The Mentor Luncheon is one of the conference highlights, allowing these young women to share with each other their experiences as women leaders within our community.
Is there a fee?
The Jenna Druck Foundation is funded by donations from the community, grants, and corporate sponsors. The conference is fully funded except for a nominal $25 fee required from the student participants and $40 fee from Mentors (This fee covers the cost of food and beverage only for the event). Scholarships are available for anyone who requires assistance.
