The Young Women’s Leadership Program

Each year The Jenna Druck Foundation provides a transformational journey for young women from throughout San Diego County. The annual curriculum is designed to support and celebrate them as individuals by providing guidance, training and strategies for developing leadership skills that enhance their lives and their communities.

For more than thirteen years, “Young Women’s Leadership” has been providing a path for thousands of young women to learn and practice core leadership concepts. Over the course of the year more than 1,000 special young women will attend this series of inspirational and life-changing educational events.  Our featured and highly-requested programs include two “Spirit of Leadership” conferences, four compelling Leadership Workshops, a powerful year-round “Mentor for a day” program along with five newly launched “Girl Talk” sessions.

Many of our program participants are undiscovered or emerging leaders who do not yet know their own leadership potential. The “Young Women’s Leadership” program supports these young participants with highly acclaimed training sessions designed to teach them how to actively live as leaders.

Girls from all areas of San Diego County assemble as a community for the day.  With such rich diversity, each session is carefully designed to create a safe space that not only embraces socio-economic differences but also celebrates the similarities.  Young women experience year-round opportunities to learn and practice honoring themselves and each other in an environment that encourages self-discovery, collaboration and growth.

Training Tomorrow’s Leaders Today – The “Spirit of Leadership Award”

Each year hundreds of extraordinary San Diego County high school and middle school young women are selected, by the community to receive the “Spirit of Leadership” Award. Recipients are invited to attend one of two annual conferences that provide training and well-deserved recognition. The conference includes keynote speakers, break-out sessions designed to enrich and support young women in their efforts to become active leaders today all infused with high energy, fun interactive exercises and special guests. The “Mentor-for-a-Day” program is a highlight at each conference where we connect attendees with prominent adult women leaders that volunteer their time and attention to encouraging the girls to share and grow. This is a remarkable day as it creates lasting change in the lives of many attendees (including the adult volunteers!)
